Bozburun is a village of Marmaris county, which is one of the most important tourism centers in southern Turkey. Bozburun has a population of only 2040. It's a small and lovely touristic village. Marmaris Bozburun is most famous for its shipyards where traditional blue voyage yachts called gulet are built. This village is like a paradise just beside crowded and noisy Marmaris town.
Bozburun is also cheaper than Marmaris. Accommodation and eating are high quality and cheap. You can taste fresh and organic vegetable dishes cooked with olive oil, fresh sea products and local food. This is still a rural area and everything you eat and drink are fresh and natural.
Around the village there are many beautiful coves for swimming and boat tours. You can also join scuba diving courses or do other water sports. Marmaris Bozburun is popular among celebrities too. Turkish singer Bülent Ortaçgil wrote a song about Bozburun and it made this little village even more popular. In ancient times this village was called Timnos and a part of Caria civilization.
